Whereas this discussion board is known as “Trailspace on the Path,” now’s a good time to share photos of “Trailspace at House” or “Trailspace within the Yard” whereas we deal with staying at house and sticking to native, shorter, socially-distant adventures throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is my contribution, from the northeast nook of my Maine yard. You may’t inform, however there’s a dust path underfoot that my children have been raking out for a small mountain biking loop.
Share your personal “Trailspace at House” photos, indoors or out, on this discussion board and on Instagram, Fb, or Twitter (when you’re so inclined). #trailspace #stayhome #adventureinplace

I will put it again on him tomorrow…will we get bonus factors for the old-fashioned colourway?

Arrange camp within the woods behind the home yesterday because the rain began. Wasn’t anticipating it to show to snow and went with the UL tarp. This was the view once I went to mattress round 10p
Heavy moist snow was bombing consistently and bushes had been crashing down each now and again. With all of the cracking and bombing happening I made a decision to go sleep in the home round midnight.
Appears I made name, as a result of a method or one other I used to be evacuating that hammock final evening. There’s a motive I exploit a completely completely different tarp system on Winter journeys. UL is L, however positively not bomb proof :p

I am having fun with all the photos above! Due to everybody who has shared some thus far.
Like LoneStranger confirmed above, we bought a heavy, moist April snowstorm right here in Maine on Thursday evening. This is an image from Friday taken close to the identical spot in our yard because the one which began this thread. It is arduous to inform because it was so moist and condensed, however we bought about 8 or 9 inches.
It was sufficient to ski across the yard in circles for some time…
That occupied a number of the 36 hours we spent with out energy/web/warmth/water. There are nonetheless a variety of outages.

We had a variety of flickering right here however solely misplaced energy for a couple of minutes. Misplaced the highest of an enormous pine within the again yard. That was one of many cracking sounds I heard whereas within the hammock. Earlier I used to be on a water-resistant testing stroll within the pouring rain when it abruptly turned white. It was like blobs of slush coming down greater than snow. Very moist!
Glad you bought your energy again!

Tenting the yard is taking over new which means. I slept out final evening and can once more tonight. The one sounds I heard had been coyotes, one donkey and a few horses knickers.
Too windy tonight to cook dinner exterior on a fireplace. I’m making lasagne which matches good in a Dutch Oven.

Our energy/warmth/and so forth got here again after 36 hours, however we’re anticipating an inch or extra of rain with wind gusts as much as 40mph as we speak, so we’ll see if it lasts. We’re enhancing our open hearth and woodstove cooking although, and dealing on the perspective of “what is going to occur subsequent?”

I made a decision an overnighter was so as, so I threw up my Dutchware hammock and my Hammock Gear Journey tarp, tossed just a few issues right into a pack, and made the 75’ trek to my yard. I made a decision to go away my GPS at house. Quiet night, woke to rain on my tarp whereas cozy inside my quilts…all was proper on the planet for awhile, particularly after some glorious Costa Rican espresso within the rain-washed air! Y’all be secure.

We bought a late season burst of snow so there’s nonetheless xc snowboarding inside attain of my home, however skinny on our finish and we do not have a automotive for the brief drive to Bekken, so we strapped our skis to our bikes and rode round. I also can stroll or run on trails about 2km to get to snow. Now we’re getting a number of days of attractive spring climate, makes it arduous to deal with work from home.
However with us at house Harley is getting every day frisbee exercises:
We’ve got just a few hepaticas aand different early bloomers within the backyard, and coltsfoot arising in every single place, however a methods to go earlier than issues begin blooming within the woods. I actually miss the jap deciduous forest spring wildflower present.
