in an effort to get probably the most out of my 2012 Mac mini I exploit OCLP to run Large Sur on it. I exploit it as a server, children Apple Arcade gamingbox, AppleTV, Picture presenter in 4K (with Switchres X)
Setup:
Two 1TB Samsung SSD’s I divided each disks in 2 elements:
- disk0-a 64GB for System
- disk1-a 64GB for System
- disk0-b 936GB for Information
- disk1-b 936GB for Information
Volumes:
I made a
- 128 GB APFS logical quantity ‘Mac mini SSD’ (Systemdisk) from disk0&1a following this information on StackExchange
- 1.8TB RAID0 APFS quantity known as Information from Disk0&1b
(which is tremendous quick)
Beforehand the total 2TB labored and booted underneath RAID following the Rafael Lesniak information:
However underneath Large Sur that was not working.
This answer ‘Fusion Drive’ and RAID appeared to work flawlessly…till I hit the 50% border from disk 0 to 1.
Downside:
- at 50% full the system returns a ‘Disk Full message’ and/or installs that cross that border fail too. As quickly as a file tries to cross the border from bodily disk 0 to 1 it errors.
-All GUI Disk Utility checks say the Fusion Drive is okay, the container is okay and the 128GB spanning quantity is ‘okay’…whereas in reality it’s not.
